Ovarian cancer is being considered as the most deadly cancer of the female reproductive system.  It has a high death rate which is partly due to the lack of early detections and screening tests.

There is a new statement that has been issued by the Gynecologic Cancer Foundation (GCF), Society of Gynecologic Oncologists (SGC), and the American Cancer Society (ACS) which could help women take note of the early symptoms of ovarian cancer.  By doing so, each woman would have the chance to seek help swiftly to avoid the cancer cells from spreading.

According to the statement, there are some early symptoms of ovarian cancer which are much more likely to occur in women which has ovarian cancer already than with the women in the general population.  Some of these early symptoms of ovarian cancer are the following:

Bloating or abdominal swelling.  This is where your cloths will seen too tight for you.
Abdominal or pelvic pain
Difficulty in eating or always feeling full quickly
Urinary symptoms which involves frequency in urinating or even always having the urge to pee.
Fatigue or fever
Gastrointestinal symptoms (such as gas, nausea, or changes in bowel movements)
Vaginal Bleeding which is commonly being called as discharge
Pain during your sexual intercourse
Back pain and lastly,
Difficulty in breathing

The organization also had stated that “if women have all of these symptoms almost daily for more than a few weeks, then it is time for them to seek a medical help”; preferably a gynecological help.  The organization even noted that “all those women who have ovarian cancer report that all the symptoms are persistent and even represents a change from normal to their bodies”.

And that several studies have highlighted all these early symptoms of ovarian cancer.  Moreover, the said symptoms do not always indicate the presence of ovarian cancer; only physicians can diagnose it.

Nowadays, ovarian cancer in U.S women is being considered as the eighth most common cancers in their country.  As a matter of fact, they already have recorded new number of cases of women affected with ovarian cancer which is 22, 430.  And their death expectancy, for those ovarian cancer patients for this year, is almost about 15,280; this was all according from the American Cancer Society (ACS).

Ovarian cancer is really hard to be distinguished.  Most especially that the early symptoms of ovarian cancer stated can just be another symptom of other illness.  As said above, it does not mean that if you are already experiencing all those symptoms in your body you are already affected with this disease.

The greatest thing a woman could do is to always visit her gynecologists for her body to be checked.  As they say, ovarian cancer is a “silent killer”.  No one knows if she’s already affected with it until such time that they are already in a high stage.

As a woman, we should always keep in mind that we should take good care of our body and do not take it for granted.  Our body is the most precious thing that was given to us; we are just the ones who have the ability to carry a child in it.  Let us take good care of it all the time.
