Ovarian cancer life expectancy all depends on the stage it already is. Different stages of ovarian cancer come with the different life expectancies. But, as surveys had shown there is an estimated state that over 15,000 numbers of women will die from ovarian cancer and that the average age of death for it will be 71 years of age. They even gave approximate percentage rates for the age at the time of death which are the following listed below:
- For women under the age of 20, there will be 0.1% of death due to ovarian cancer.
- For women whose age ranges between 20-34 years old, there will be a 0.8% of death for them.
- For women ages between 35-44 years old, the death percentage for them will be 3.1%.
- For women between 45-54 years of age, the death percentage for them due to ovarian cancer will be at 11.3%.
- For all those women whose ages are between 55-64 years old, and have an ovarian cancer disease, they have a percentage of death which is 19.2%.
- For women whose age ranges between 65-74 years old, there will be a 24.7% of death percentage for them.
- For women ages between 75-84 years old, the death percentage will be 28.4%.
- And lastly, for all those women affected by the ovarian cancer disease whose age is over 85 years old, they have a death percentage which is 12.4%.
As we all see, the percentage of death for all of the ovarian cancer patients increases as the age increases too. All those women ages 75-84 years old have the highest percentage of death rate due to ovarian cancer disease.
Let’s look at it this way, ovarian cancer life expectancy decreases when the woman affected with this disease is quite old and does not have many active protective cells in their body. As we all grew older, our body grows weaker, most especially if we do not have a very healthy way of living.
But, it does not mean that, if an old woman was affected with the ovarian cancer disease automatically she won’t have any chances of surviving and overcoming it. No, that’s wrong. If she is still at the early stage of the disease and have a healthy way of living she will certainly have a bigger chance of overcoming this disease. This is why we all should engage ourselves to a very healthy way of living to prevent ourselves from having many diseases while we grew old.
As mentioned above, the ovarian cancer life expectancy will certainly be depending on the stage of the ovarian cancer of the patient. The higher the stage she has, the lower the chances of her in surviving the disease. Most especially if that is not the only disease she has. But on the contrary, if the woman affected by ovarian cancer disease is only at the early stages of it, she will certainly have the chance to survive and overcome the said disease.
Ovarian cancer life expectancy for those patients who have stage 4 of this disease have lesser chances in surviving and overcoming it. Simply because, in this stage the cancer cells has already been spreading out into other body organs such as the liver or the lungs, which makes it very critical and incurable stage.
